The DOE Network Security Monitoring Technical Summit is intended to be a TECHNICAL meeting of practicing cyber security analysts from all parts of DOE. Managers are welcome to attend, but the focus is on presenting practical technical information, not policies, procedures or guidelines.
The meeting will be conducted at the Official Use Only (OUO) level, so that participants may feel free to discuss their specific Network Security Monitoring programs in detail.
The Summit will take place over one and half days, allowing attendees to head home early on Friday, if desired.
Topics for discussion include, but are not limited to:
- Network Security Monitoring (NSM)
- Intrusion Detection/Prevention (IDS/IDP)
- Collecting network session information
- Full packet capture, access and analysis
- Network forensics
- Email monitoring
- Botnet detection
- Software & Tools (Bro, Snort, Sguil,…)
