N* Analysis Workshop

November 4-5, 2006
Jefferson Lab, Newport News, VA USA

Circular

There are two main goals to the workshop. 1) We want to define the steps towards a coherent approach to the analysis of CLAS and world data that are relevant for the extraction of N* parameters and better understand how these fundamental parameters are to be compared to theoretical approaches, such as quark models and Lattice QCD. 2) As a result of the workshop we will generate a "white paper" that outlines the importance of the N* program for our understanding of the relevant degrees of freedom underlying hadron structure at different distance scales. This paper should be useful as input to the town meetings that are being organized in preparation of the NSAC Long Range Plan for Nuclear Physics. We want to make sure that the JLab N* program and the recently established Excited Baryon Analysis Center (EBAC) are adequately represented in the long range planning process.
